Karakteristik dan Performa Nira Tebu Berdasarkan Perbedaan Varietas dan Waktu Umur Tebang di Kebun Percobaan P3GI Pasuruan

Abstract


Jenis tebu yang diterima dan digiling oleh pabrik gula untuk dilakukan pengolahan memiliki variasi tinggi dan heterogen. Salah satu kegiatan yang perlu dilakukan yaitu studi pengetahuan tentang pengaruh varietas dan waktu umur tebang tertentu terhadap karakteristik dan performa nira tebu. Kegiatan penelitian ini menggunakan 10 jenis varietas tebu komersil (PS 891, PS 892, PS 862, PS 864, PS 881, PSJT 941, PSJK 922, PSDK 983, VMC 86-550, dan CENNING) dengan 4 jenis waktu umur tebang tebu (6 s/d 9 bulan) yang didapatkan dari Kebun Percobaan P3GI Pasuruan. Bagian tebu yang digunakan yaitu atas-tengah-bawah (ATB) dan campuran dengan parameter analisa umum (brix, pol, rendemen sementara) dan khusus (sukrosa, gula reduksi, fosfat, warna larutan, dekstran); kemudian data diolah menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktorial dan 2 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang sangat signifikan antara bagian, varietas, dan waktu umur tebang tebu. Seiring dengan meningkatnya waktu umur tebang, maka karakteristik dan performa parameter hasil juga meningkat, terutama brix, pol, dan rendemen sementara. Terdapat 4 varietas yang berpotensi memiliki rendemen sementara >10 %, yaitu PS 891, PS 892, PSDK 983, dan CENNING dengan waktu umur tebang 9 bulan.
